Flowers in Winter

Sometimes simple prompts spark my inspiration. In this case, it was the words “funky pants” that inspired me to create a picture. I can do funky pants! Flower power bell-bottoms immediately came to mind. And of course, flowers are a must. What do I like to draw most? Girls. The first sketch was done quite quickly. Okay, I had a some problems with the body posture.

After improving the sketch and changing some details as the hair in Procreate, I made a color study. It should be a bright and colorful picture.

I used my iPad as a light box and traced the improved sketch on Arches Watercolor Paper. I used the Grain Satiné Paper. It has such a lovely weave structure and gives such a fine structure to the picture. I used my best colored pencils: Caron d’ache Luminance and Derwent Lightfast. As always I tweaked the colors here and there. But overall I like the smoothness of those pencils. It was a blast.

After scanning and refining in Photoshop my Picture came out better than expected! I love the positive vibes. So what should I do with her? Sticker or Postcards?
